The state government is spending Rs 2.39 crore on education in the Bharmour tribal terrain of Chamba district during the current fiscal year. This was stated by Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri while presiding over an annual prize distribution function of the Government Senior Secondary School, Bharmour, here yesterday.

The minister appealed to students to keep themselves away from the evil of intoxication and shun the habit of copying in examinations if they wanted to progress in life.

The minister gave away prizes to the outstanding students.

On the occasion, the minister sanctioned Rs 21,000 each to the cultural activities and dresses of students from his discretionary grant.
