Scholarship distribution camp begins

The Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) launched a scholarship distribution camp here.
Speaking on the occasion, the managing trustee of the HBET said scholarships would be distributed to 550 students over the next 10 days. He added that the students would be invited along with their parents to collect the scholarship.
R Mahaldar, patron of the SATCHEL Institute for promotion of music, art and literacy among underprivileged and slum children, was the chief guest.
The HBET has been awarding scholarships to students since 1997. Initially, the HBET started by supporting 12 children and this year the trust is reaching out to 550 children. The trust aims to cover as many rural children as possible in and around Jammu. The trust also organises medical check-ups and counselling of students on the occasion.
