Science drama
A district-level competition of science drama was organized by National Council of Science Museum at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar, under the patronage of district science supervisor for developing scientific attitude among the masses. Around 14 schools participated and enacted on various themes of science communicating and creating awareness regarding scientific outlook. The event was adorned by the presence of Prof Rajinder Bhandari as the chief guest, and Pardeep Kapoor were welcomed cordially by the president Madan Mohan Vyas and principal Bandana Sethi. A group song by the students of BVM mesmerised one and all. Government High School, Dehardka, bagged first position, Government Senior Secondary School, Sangowal, bagged second and Ajitsar Government Senior Secondary School, Raikot, bagged third position. Principal Bandana Sethi congratulated the winning team and applauded the efforts of the children. She extended her best wishes for their next course of journey to the state level.
Plantation drive
BCM Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, organised a plantation drive. NCC cadets of the school planted saplings in nearby locality and around the school. The exercise was carried out with great zeal and enthusiasm by school cadets, teachers and supporting staff. Each student adopted one plant and decided to look after it throughout the year.
Principal of the school DP Guleria appreciated the efforts and opined that such activities are really important and necessary to save the environment from climatic change.
Malwa Khalsa School
NCC unit started the movement “Plant Tree, Save Earth’’ with the collaboration of NO 4, PB Air SQN, at Malwa Khalsa School, here today. Fifty cadets of NCC took part in it. Principal Karanjit Singh encouraged the students to keep the surrounding clean and green. He encouraged them to make proper arrangement to keep tree evergreen by taking minute care of them. School cadets will contribute in these momentous movements. School manager Daljinder Singh thanked all visiting personalities. He gave full assurance of support from managing committee in the noble cause.
Green Land School
3 Punjab Battalion organized a tree plantation on the premises of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass. NCC cadets of the school participated enthusiastically in the drive. The event was organised with the objective of saving the environment from pollution, under the leadership of Colonel US Mitherwal, ANO Kulwinder Singh, constable Jaswant Singh and Som Lal. Students planted saplings of variety of trees. They took an oath to save earth and its environment. They vowed to keep planting trees while making the citizens of Ludhiana aware towards their planet earth and its needs. Principal Baldeep Pandher encouraged the cadets for the noble task. She said environmental issues have become crucial which demand our immediate attention. We must do persistent efforts to solve those issues.
BVM School
NCC (boys) cadets of BVM School, Kitchlu Nagar, joined plantation drive today along with Lt. Col Rajeev Bagga. Working on the theme of ‘Go Greener, Go Safer’ cadets worked whole heartedly in the drive on the need of launching multi pronged attack on pollution. Lt Col Rajeev Singh Bagga of 3PB battalion boys advocated the life living for others by servicing the society with maximum plantation of tress. About 200 saplings were planted today on the school premises by NCC cadets along with worthy members of 3PB Battalion (boys). Vice-principal Upasana Moudgil paid gratitude to the guests and ensured them that the school will put on every positive step for the proper implementation of their words of wisdom.
Hindi Diwas
Management, staff and students of Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School celebrated Hindi Diwas. A Hindi declamation and poetry recitation session was organised. Students highlighted the status and need of Hindi in today’s world. The impressive subject matter and impactful delivery of poems mesmerised the audience. Slogan writing activity was also conducted and beautiful slogans were written by students. Managing Director Avinash Kaur Walia motivated all the students to make use of Hindi wherever required. She also advocated that we Indians should have a positive attitude towards our mother tongue ‘Hindi’. Principal Anil Sharma also encouraged everyone to feel proud in speaking Hindi.
Students bag laurels
Students of Police DAV Public School performed brilliantly in the sports events organized by District School Tournament Committee –Punjab Education Department at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana. In Martial Art Tournament 4 students have won medals. Samridhi, Parkhi, Sneha bagged gold, silver and bronze medals in different categories of U-14 girls’ category, respectively.
