Chandigarh: SJOBA Foundation, the second alumni association of St John's School, comprising senior SJOBA members, became one of the very few alumni associations in the world to actively nurture talented students of its school in a planned and structured manner. At a school assembly held at St John's School on Monday, SJOBA Foundation presented cheques of Rs 1 lakh each to two students of the school who excelled in sports in the global arena - Karandeep Kocchhar (golf) and Rishabh Sharda (tennis). The two students were handed over the cheques by Mac Sarin, Justice Ajay Tiwari, SPS Ghai and principal of St John's School Kavita Das. SJOBA Foundation executive committee members present on the occasion included Gautam Khanna, Sandip Sahni, Nipun Mehan, Aneesh Bhanot and Vivek Bansal.
Carnival held
Mohali: Sacred Souls’ School hosted a carnival on the school campus offering delightful activities for parents and students. A swirl of games, carnival rides, art and craft, and lip-smacking food made the day happening for visitors. The main attraction of the carnival was ‘Wow Woman Contest’ where women of all ages rocked the ramp and played tricky rounds to win the title. The contest was judged by Rammya Singh, participant, Miss Globe India 2016; Dr Neetu Narula, finalist, Gladrags Mrs India 2010; and Kamaldeep Kaur Khangura, famous model. The ‘Say Cheese’ Photography Club also contributed by displaying the best photographs clicked by students. Tiny tots were happy to interact with cartoons Mini and Mickey.
School principal honoured
Zirakpur: Dr Rajni Chandan, principal, Dikshant International School, was honoured by Amity University for exemplary leadership in the field of education at a National Edu Leader’s Conclave held on the University’s Lucknow campus. The award was presented to Dr Chandan by chief guest Lt Gen Manvendra Singh. The honour was conferred in recognition of the achievements of Dikshant International School in Space Outreach programme. — TNS
