DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, organised a slogan writing competition on the topic social wellness to make students aware about personal hygiene, cleanliness and environment. Students prepared slogans under the guidance of their teachers and also apprised others for cleanliness and environment. Principal of the school encouraged students and stated the importance of cleanliness for the healthy society.
Classroom decoration competition
Class room decoration competition was held at Tagore Public School, Ludhiana. The competition was held for the students of Classes Pre-Nursery to X. Students with their class in-charges participated in the competition with enthusiasm. Students used various themes to decorate charts and decorated doors with colourful stickers. The competition was held under the supervision of the in-charge Jagreet Kaur. Teachers took great efforts in decorating their classes. They decorated classes with different types of charts like rainbow chart, reading chart, moral stories charts.
Hindi poem recitation
Poetry provides a relaxed and pleasant way for students to practice language skills. Poems inspire us. They have been described as the “best words in the best orders”. A Hindi poem recitation competition was organised for the students of Class I and II. The students participated enthusiastically and everyone enjoyed them. The competition was presided over by headmistress Namita.
Creative week
Students of Ryan Dugri celebrated creative week on the school premises. Students performed various activities like best out of waste, collage making, poster making and many more activities. The week has been designated as a time to encourage and support people’s beliefs in their own ability to imagine, create and implement new ideas and solutions towards making the world a better place, and to make their place in the world better too. Headmistress of the school Ritu Syal appreciated the creativity shown by the students she also added by saying that creativity and innovation can make a difference in our everyday life, work and in the world.
Seminar on school bus safety
“You need to understand that you are ferrying the treasure of families – the school children in school buses and they are like your own children. You must ensure their safety,” said Dr Kamaljeet Soi, road safety expert and member of Road Safety Council, Punjab, during an awareness seminar on ‘Safe School Vahan Scheme’ held at BCM Arya Model School for drivers. Along with District Transport Officer (DTO) Anil Kumar Garg, Dr Soi gave guidelines to drivers to ensure safety of the school children. Dr Soi said school van and bus drivers were not aware about the norms. Qualified transport managers are a must in schools but hardly any school has transport managers which is mandatory under the School Safe Vahan Scheme, he added.
