State launches scheme for NCC cadets

Chandigarh, July 6

The state government has launched a special incentive scheme for NCC cadets under which C-certificate holders aspiring to join the armed forces will be imparted training for appearing for interview before the Service Selection Board (SSB) in approved institutions free of cost.

Coaching for the first batch under the scheme, called the NCC Cadets Protsahan Yojana, began today.

The batch consists of 11 girls and two boys from the Ambala NCC Group who had received the call letters for SSB interviews. Another batch of six cadets has also been shortlisted for training under this scheme.

Haryana is among the top three states in the country to send officers to the armed forces. It also contributes a significant number of troops to the Army’s rank and file.
