Panjab University Campus Student Council along with the University Institute of Engineering Technology students held a protest today. The objection was on the placement of three students during campus recruitments of final year engineering students.
The students alleged that they were recruited on the post of Demand Generation Executive and were promised with the job profile of analysis, development and account management but had to work in the sales and marketing sector. The students were misguided at the time of recruitment.
While the department claimed that the students were given the presentation of one hour before
the recruitment to make them aware about the kind of job.
The students allegedly communicated their problem to the department, they were told to join back in the same company. The students demanded to attend regular classes in their final semester in the college. Even on repeated requests, they were refused. Amit Kaushik, Joint Secretary of PUCSC, joined the students to take up the issue.
