Students of Ramgarhia Girls College performed brilliantly in the exams of BCom-II. Lovleen Kaur stood 15th in the Panjab University, and first in the class scoring 81.3 per cent marks, Gagandeep stood second scoring 75.8 per cent marks and Jaspinder got third position with 74.9 per cent marks. Principal Narinder Sandhu congratulated the students and the staff members of the department of commerce on their remarkable success. HOD Prof Ajit Kaur said the staff was elated and proud of the achievements of the students. It is due to the hard work and determination of the students that they have been able to accomplish outstanding results in the exams. Ranjodh Singh, president Ramgarhia Educational Council and Jagtar Singh, general secretary, congratulated the students and the staff members.

Job fest

Students visited Ludhiana College of Engineering Technology, Katani Kalan, in large numbers to participate in the LCET National Job Fest. More than 700 students walked-in to register themselves to appear for interviews. More than thirty MNCs conducted their recruitment process in the one-day mega event. HR managers representing companies like Tech Mahindra, Earth Infra, Bereau Veritas, Covergys, Hero Cycles Ltd, British Telecommunications, Citizen Press Components, Bonn Food Industries, Govind Rubber Ltd, Moonlight Auto, Café Coffee Day, Viney Corporation, Signicent and many more conducted selection. Prateek Kalia, associate professor, Training and Placement Cell, said students appeared for interviews and registration without paying any fee. Principal Pawan Kumar said LCET had been organising the event since 2007, for industrial recruitment of engineering and management professionals. It also facilitates the Industry-Institute interaction.
