The festival of Dasehra was celebrated in various schools of the city. The students were told to follow the path of righteousness and by burning the effigy of Ravana, which depicted social evils, they were given a lesson of forgoing their bad habits.
SDP SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL
Dashera festival was celebrated at SDP Senior Secondary School, Hazuri Road. Ramlila was enacted by the students. The staff and students burnt the effigy of Ravana.
BHARTIYA VIDYA MANDIR
Dashera was celebrated at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar, with gaiety and fervour. The celebration started on the very first Navratra with elaboration of the importance of each Navratra motivating the students to follow the path shown by the nine goddesses (incarnation of Shakti).
MGM PUBLIC SCHOOL
Keeping the festival spirit alive, Dasehra was celebrated at MGM Public School. The children came dressed up as different characters of Ramlila. A special morning assembly was conducted, in which students spoke on the significance of the festival. Various scenes were enacted from epic Ramayana. The scenes marked Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and also reinforced the message that good always triumphs over evil.
NEW ABC MONTESSORI SCHOOL
The festival of Dasehra was celebrated at New ABC Montessori School, BRS Nagar. The function started with a prayer and bhajans of Lord Rama. The effigy of Ravana, representing social evils, was burnt on the school premises.
BHARTIYA VIDYA MANDIR, CHANDIGARH ROAD
BVM Senior Secondary School, Sector-39, Chandigarh Road, celebrated the festival of Vijay Dashmi with religious fervour. Students of all classes participated in various activities related to the life of Lord Rama.
DCM PRESIDENCY SCHOOL
The festival of victory of good over evil was celebrated with great fervour at DCM Presidency School. A special assembly, including a speech on the importance of the festival, group dance and group song was presented by the students of the elementary campus.
