Chandigarh, June 7 

Post Graduate Government College (PGGC), Sector 11, Chandigarh, is one of the oldest government colleges in the city. Its building was designed by E Maxwell Fry to accommodate 700 students. Presently, as many as 3,272 students are studying at the college.

 The college offers postgraduation in English, history, Punjabi, chemistry, physical education and IT. Various undergraduate courses such as BCA, BCom, BA, BBA, BSc biotech, BSc (medical and non-medical) are offered by the college. BSc in computer science was introduced in July, 2004, while a course in biotechnology was started in 2005. Four-year BPEd course was introduced in 2004. Functional English was introduced in 1998. 

BCom and BBA were introduced in 1999. The college has two boys’ hostels with a toptal capacity of 400 and one girls’ hostel with a capacity of 200.

One of the special features of the library of the college is its Braille corner for special students.
