A deputation of the All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) led by its district president Darshan Kumar called on the District Education and Planning Officer, Poonch, Makhan Lal Sharma here today.
The federation stressed the government to immediately release the pending salaries of teachers under the New Pension Scheme. Teachers said they were without salary for the last five months. In Sathra and Bufliaz zones, teachers had not received their salaries for over 11 months.
They expressed serious concern over unprecedented delay in the release of salary. They said they had to go to far-off places to perform their duties and such delay makes their lives difficult. They said the government should release their pending salaries at the earliest so they can celebrate Diwali. — OC
