Mohali, April 26

Teaching and non-teaching staff of Meritorious School in Sector 70, here, have been staging a protest outside the school for the past four days to press for their demands.

The protesters staged the protest after closing of the school so that the studies of the students did not affect.

“Our main demand is to regularise our jobs with the Punjab Education Department,” they said.

They claimed that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had given them assurance in this regard.

The protestors claimed that around 250 teachers and non-teaching staff of all six meritorious schools were holding protests daily outside their schools in the afternoon. “We have not received our salaries for the past four months,” alleged the teachers.”
