Ludhiana: MGM Public School celebrated Teej. Students came dressed in colourful attires. Swings were set up on the campus. A Punjabi cultural corner was also put up, where charkha, pakkhies, phulkaris, bangles and chhaj were displayed. Students were served delicacies such as kheer and malpuras. Campus was decorated with buntings and fresh flowers. Students performed giddha and danced on the tunes of folk songs. Students also staged a Punjabi skit. Avneet of Class IX gave a speech. Esha of Class VIII was titled, ‘Miss Teej’ and Angel of Class III was declared ‘Ms beautiful smile’.
OP Gupta SDP SCHOOL
OP Gupta SD Model Senior Secondary School celebrated Teej. Students came dressed in traditional attires. Students preseted colourful dance performances. They ejoyed eatable stalls, folk songs, peeng, giddha and folklore. President of SDP Sabha Balraj Kumar Bhasin appreciated the students for their efforts. Gurleen Kaur of Class XII was selected titled, ‘Miss Teej’ and Riya of Class IV was declared, ‘Baby Teej’
BBSB Convent School
Jagraon: BBSB Convent School, Sidwhan Bet, celebrated the festival of Teej with great pomp and show. Students of Nursery to Class I participated in the festivities. The tiny tots came dressed in beautiful Punjabi attires. Students performed different events such as dance on folk songs, giddha and bhangra to make the festival more interesting. Principal Anita Kumari and the management members congratulated the teachers and students for putting up a great show and also distributed prizes among the winners. —TNS
