Chandigarh: The Department of Political Science, MCM DAV College for Women, organised a thought-provoking lecture on “Thinking about India’s Democracy” by Prof Ashutosh Kumar, Department of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The lecture was organised to analyse the current political scenario in India. It was followed by interactive sessions.

Five-day workshop begins

The Department of Bioinformatics and Biochemistry of GGDSD College, Sector 32-C, started a five-day workshop on Next Generation Sequence Data Analysis and Structural Bioinformatics on Wednesday. Dr Rajender Singh Sangwan, head and chief executive officer, Centre of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB), Mohali, inaugurated the workshop. According to him, the analysis of a large amount of data generated by technologies is a major bottleneck that can only be overcome through specialised training in advanced data analysis methodologies and the use of dedicated bioinformatics software tools.

Institute celebrates 10th anniversary

 

Olive Greens Institute, located at Lohia International School, Mani Majra, celebrated its 10 anniversary on Wednesday. The institute trains young aspirants to join the armed forces as officers. Defence aspirants are drawn from all over the country. The institute has its integral transport facilities for the hostel and outdoor training. — TNS
