The exam was conducted in two slots wherein paper-I consisted of 120 maths questions and paper-II had 150 general studies questions, including 50 on English.

“While a few questions were challenging which is quite expected in a UPSC exam, many questions were quite factual, repetitive, straight forward, conceptually efficient and approachable in nature,” said Sanpreet Singh Sodhi, a candidate who appeared at the GMSSS-37 centre. “Although geography, history and polity questions asked were conventional, economy questions were completely dynamic, based on government reports and policies,” said another candidate Rituraj Bhalla.

“Many general studies questions asked can be found in several UPSC exams conducted earlier. Overall, it was a medium difficulty level paper,” said Nihit Sharma, a candidate from Ambala.

Analysing the paper, city-based UPSC subject expert Kunal Singh said, “There was definitely a shift in the quality as well as sectional distribution of questions in exam.
