Vasundhra Day was celebrated at Nanhi Duniya School at Vikas Nagar with students and members of Society of Visionaries planting saplings.
“Children love nature, animals, trees, and butterflies and teachers of Nanhi Duniya School strive to inculcate this in such a way that it becomes a foundation for both the scientific and practical approach to nature. Kiran Ulfat Goyal, chief promoter of the school, said Nanhi Duniya believed in being sensitive towards environment and nature. The young students and volunteers performed a dance drama “Ek beej main lekar aaya”. Two volunteers, Miriam and Tina from Germany conducted a creative workshop for children and taught them songs and educational games. During their stay at the school, they were overwhelmed by the open hearted staff and the children.
A large number of social workers visited Nanhi Duniya to learn how the children carry out their activities in a natural environment. Goyal said children of Nanhi Duniya become part of the loving community rather than mere students of an establishment as they were allowed freedom to develop their talents, skills and personality under gentle guidance. She gave her heartfelt gratitude to all participants present on the occasion. Urmila Thakur, headmistress of the school, proposed a vote of thanks.
