World Book Day celebrated

To mark the celebration of World Book Day, Shivalik Public School, Patiala, organised various activities and events. The celebrations began with an on-stage performance during the morning assembly where students explained the history and importance of the day, along with some tips, to maintain books and notebooks. The celebrations continued with ‘Bookmark-making competition’ where students prepared attractive and innovative bookmarks. Later, a creative writing competition was held. To enhance the students’ interest in extra reading, a book exhibition was also organised in the library where various types of books, including genres like fiction, non-fiction, mythology, biography and encyclopedia, were displayed. Orientation programme

An orientation programme was held for parents of nursery students of Blossoms School, Patiala. It was organised for the parents to understand the teaching-learning methodology implemented in the school. It was explained through a PowerPoint presentation. Besides the teaching process, the session included introduction of the school app, school uniform, rules and regulations to be followed on the school premises, I-card — both for the parents and the students. Special programme

Students of Blossoms Senior Secondary School, Patiala, organised a special programme to celebrate Earth Day. The motive behind the event was to teach the students about saving the environment. Students delivered speeches, recited poems, used placards and their skills to mark the importance of the day. A skit related to the theme was also presented, which was highly appreciated. Principal Bindu Vaid and coordinator Raj Soni were among those present. The programme concluded with a pledge by the students to keep the environment clean and green. OC

Special assembly marks Earth Day

World Earth Day was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Dadhera, with zeal. A special assembly was organised on the occasion. Sandhya of Class VIII delivered a speech in which she drawn the attention towards the blue planet, earth, which is loosing its healthy environment each passing day. Students of Classes I-V made colourful placards and took out a rally based on Earth Day. School principal Meena Thapar complimented her efforts and encouraged the students to demonstrate environment-protection measures. OC

Cleanliness campaign

The British Co-Ed High School organised a cleanliness drive and road safety campaign in collaboration with the NCC, 5th Punjab Battalion (Army Wing) and 3rd Punjab Squadron (Air Wing). The campaign was organised with an objective of creating hygiene awareness among slum dwellers. NCC cadets carried out cleaning activities in streets of slum areas. They told residents and young drivers about safe driving to reduce traffic fatalities and accidents. The activities were supervised by Mandeep Chand, 3rd Officer (Army Wing) and Anil Kumar, 3rd Officer (Air Wing). OC

School celebrates Earth Day

To mark Earth Day and emphasise upon the need to save trees, Ryan International School celebrated Earth day on its premises. Students participated with zeal to fulfill their responsibility of keeping earth clean and green. The students participated in various activities such as poster-making and highlighted a message to save water and keep earth green. A rally was also organised. Students planted saplings and spread awareness. Principal Pooja Sharma congratulated the students for taking such a constructive step and administered a pledge to protect and save the fast-depleting natural resources. OC

World Heritage Day

To commemorate World Heritage Day, Career Academy School, Patiala, organised a school exhibition depicting the diversity of Indian states. Students exhibited various models, charts and real objects portraying vibrant states. Classes were decorated in a beautiful manner, showcasing states, including Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir. The students explained the background and history of places. Chairman of the school Arundweep Singh Bhatia appreciated the efforts of the students. OC
