Patiala: World Health Day was observed at Police DAV School, Dadhera. A special assembly was organised on this occasion. Navita, a student of class VII, delivered a speech on World Health Day in which she told about the significance and motive of this day. School principal Meena Thapar shared her thoughts and asked students to adopt healthy diet. She motivated the students to avoid junk food to remain healthy and fit.

DAV Public School, Bhupindra Road, observed World Health Day to make students aware of the importance of health. The theme for this year was “Halt the Rise, Beat the Diabetes”. Dr Nirmal Dass from Saket Hospital, and Randhir Singh, Diljot Kaur, MS Bindra, a team of clinical educators from Columbia Asia Hospital, were the resource persons. While addressing students and teachers, Randhir Singh highlighted various kinds of such deadly diseases and measures that could be adopted in our lifestyle to evade diabetes. Diljot Kaur, based upon the informative power point presentation, organised a quiz for students. It was followed by an important talk by Nirmal Dass. He encouraged the students to follow healthy lifestyle by eating balanced diet. He spread the awareness about the diabetes and suggested steps to prevent it. — TNS
