Wynberg-Allen School students awarded trophies

Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie, held its annual prize distribution function for the academic year 2016 at the Sir Kirby Laing auditorium in Mussoorie on Saturday. A number of students were awarded certificates and trophies for excelling in various fields in the presence of members of the board, staff and parents.

The function started with a prayer, followed by the junior school choir presentation of “I thank my God each time I think of you”. The school’s annual achievement report for 2016 was presented by principal L Tindale, after which the senior school choir presented their anthem “Sing for Joy”.

The chairman’s award for exceptional stage presence and outstanding skills in public speaking went to Viraijn Palta and Abhgail S John. The award for exemplary conduct was given to Pratyaksha Chhabra.

The CJ Singh Memorial Trophy for the Best Athlete was awarded to Advait Dias and Muskaan Surdhar. The Wallace Shah Cup for the Best All-Rounder was awarded to Anmol Singla. Pulkit Goyal received the award of the Day Scholar of Outstanding Merit. The David Inglis Trophy for the Best Swimmer was awarded jointly to Anmol Singla and Angela Tete. The Carl A Phillips Prize for Creativity went to Ojaswi Khemani and the TW Phillips Award for Integrity and Service was given to Sanskar Kasnia. The Beryl Harding award for the Spirit of Wynberg –Allen for boys was awarded to Ojaswi Khemani and Anmol Singla and for the girls to Sukanya Bansal. The Cock House Cup for 2016 was awarded to Powell House. After the hymn “Lord Dismiss Us with thy blessing” the function concluded with the singing of the school song “Shout all Hail for Wynberg-Allen” and with a resounding rendition of the national anthem.

The guest of honour on the occasion was Tejveer Singh, Joint Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie. He addressed the gathering and presented prizes to the winning students.
