Youthopia 2015, the annual cultural and technical fest of DIT University, started amid much fanfare and enthusiasm here today. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of students of various colleges. Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated the three-day festival.
Harish Rawat congratulated the students and teachers on the occasion and said that such programmes were essential for the holistic growth of students. He hoped that the fest, which students had designed and organised, would provide them an opportunity to learn skills of leadership and teamwork.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the art and technical exhibition. The Indian and western dance performances kept the audience glued to their seats. Later various cultural and technical events, including design thinking, code hunt, Kurukshetra, Solve for X-1, Indian, western and folk solo and group performances, were witnessed. Architecture students displayed exemplary talent by creating artifacts out of waste materials at the exhibition.
The technical exhibition displayed exceptional student creativity in designing projects and models. Other informal events held were Tarck o Ball, sack race, DIT Roadies and paper plane. The day also saw a performance by Jazba– Ashish Chhabra Project, a famous band in the music scene with great passion and flare towards music, giving each track their own style statement thus emerging with a fresh genre of melody and music itself.
