Expedite work on RS MP’s projects, Centre tells state

The Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has directed the Haryana Government to expedite work on the projects recommended by Rajya Sabha MP Shadi Lal Batra.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana, the Union Ministry has shot off a communiqué to the Additional Chief Secretary (Rural Development) in this regard. The ministry has asked the Additional Chief Secretary to direct the authorities concerned to expedite implementation of the eligible works and furnish the action taken report (ATR) within seven days.
The letter maintains that the MP had alleged delay in the implementation of works recommended by him under the MPLAD scheme.
As per the official record furnished by Batra at a media interaction here today, estimates have not been received in 42 of the 60 projects recommended by him during the financial year 2015-16.
Taking cognizance of the MP’s complaint in this regard, the Union Ministry has pointed out in the letter that as per the provision stipulated at para 3.12 of the Guidelines on MPLADS, all recommended eligible works should be sanctioned within 75 days from the date of receipt of recommendation.
The communiqué further maintains that the district administration as well as the state authorities should review the implementation of the MPLADS works.
