A conference on ‘Self-reliant development and world peace’ was held here today in the presence of Vijender Jain, former Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, RI Hak Mu, Director General of Korean Association of Social Sciences, Kye Chun Yong, Ambassador of the Democratic People Republic of Korea, Harish Gupta, Director General of the Association Regional Institute of Juche Idea. Piyushi Jain welcomed the dignitaries.
Harish Gupta gave a brief introduction of the Juche Idea. Ri Hak Mu and Kay Chun Yong also spoke on the issue.
In his address, Justice Vijender Jain said, “Self-reliant development and world peace are interwoven. They are supplementary and complementary to each other.” He added that the philosophy of Hinduism, Jainism and Sikhism was the essence of Juche Idea. Justice Jain further said, “In spite of all the obstacles created by the United States and its allies, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is trying to secure the basic necessities for its people.”
Appreciating the development in the spheres of economic, industrial, technological and educational fields, Justice Jain said it was phenomenal in spite of the sanctions imposed by the UN on the basis of pressure exerted by the US and its allies.
“Korea strictly follows the principle of sovereign equality granted to all the members by the United Nations in the interests of the people,” he remarked.
Justice Jain further said self-dependence in the military front is an exercise of self-defence by Korea. “The DPRK experiences continuous and daily hostility from the US bases in South Korea. To defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity is a fundamental right of a nation under the international law,” he said. “The military preparedness by the DPRK and advancement in this distinction is in order to defend its freedom and sovereignty. The DPRK has not attacked any country and has worked for maintaining world peace,” he said.
He concluded by saying that the international community must not be carried away by western propaganda and understand the sufferings of the people of Korea.
At the end, a declaration of Asian Regional Seminar for Juche Idea was unanimously passed.
