Himanshu Soni, a renowned television actor from Jaipur, has been seen in shows like Dwarkadeesh, Parvarish and Neeli Chhatri Wale. He also got name and fame with the mythological show Buddha. Now he is essaying the role of Shivam, the main male lead in SAB TV’s romantic comedy mini-series Khatmal-E-Ishque. He talks about the show with much enthusiasm.
What your character like?
I am portraying the role of a very sweet and simple boy, Shivam, who hails from a remote village. Being a very calm character, Shivam never gets angry and takes criticism very positively.
What is the show all about?
It is a story of three maternal uncles and their niece Gauri. They have raised her as their own child since Gauri does not have parents. These uncles did not get married fearing that their wives will not be able to take care of the girl. However, when their niece turns old enough to get married, they start searching for the prospective groom.
How does it feel to do a very different role?
I do not want to do typical saas-bahu roles. In this show, my character has different facets to it, where I go from playing a carefree guy in the train to a caring husband and a helpful brother-in-law.
How is your chemistry with Nikita Sharma?
Our chemistry is very good. Nikita does not have any attitude and is a very sweet person. I have never felt uncomfortable with her; our scenes go well.
Do other actors inspire you?
Any actor who is devoted to work and knows how to have fun off the sets inspires me. Devotion comes first.
