11 get 5th degree black belt

In a rare case, as many as 11 Senior Karate Black Belts were graded to 5th Degree Black Belt during annual karate summer training camp held at Manali last week.
All the 11 Black Belts, who have been practicing karate for last more than 20 to 25 years, were earlier holding the rank of fourth degree Black Belts and were graded by Jun Do Kan Goju Ryu Karate Federation of India with its head office at Shimla.
The federation is known as one of the best organizations for imparting training in traditional karate.
Sensai Surinder Kumar Thakur, founder member and Technical Director of the Karate Federation, said the karate Black belts who were graded to 5th Degree Black Belts by the penal of experts constituted by the federation, are: Rakesh, Santosh, Vijay, Sandeep Sood, Parshant , Chander Pal, Randhir, Devi Dutt, Mohar Singh, Rajan Sharma and Shyam Sunder. All of these have been imparting karate training to the students at their respective locations.
Apart from that, three senior students Roshan, Aashutosh Bhardwaj and Baldev were awarded first degree Black Belts and 60 more junior students were awarded different colored belts in junior grade.
It was stressed that the federation was committed to preserve the traditional aspect of karate and has been imparting training to thousands of students in various parts of Himachal Pradesh.
