Jammu, March 2

Governor NN Vohra has greeted people on the occasion of World Wildlife Day which is observed on March 3 every year.

In his message, the Governor observed that the World Wildlife Day provided an opportunity to celebrate the beautiful and varied forms of flora and fauna and launch appropriate initiatives for making people aware of the manifold benefits which accrue from conservation programmes. He noted that the existence of wildlife makes a valuable contribution to advance and strengthen the ecological, genetic, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, recreational and aesthetic aspects of sustainable development and human welfare.

The Governor suggested that the celebration of this year's theme, 'Listening to the young voices', should be gainfully utilised to provide meaningful incentives to equip and enable the youth to effectively deal with conservation issues. — TNS
