The passing-out ceremony of a batch of newly recruited 48 Himachal Home Guard jawans was held at the Himachal Home Guards 8th Battalion Training Centre in Saroo here today. Of these Home Guard jawans, 23 were from Kangra district, 8 from Hamirpur district and 17 from Chamba district.
Addressing the jawans, SP (Home Guards) Kuldeep Sharma took the salute from the passing-out parade of the trainees.
The SP congratulated the jawans and insisted on maintaining discipline. He also highlighted the role of Home Guard jawans and spoke about proper discharge of duties.
At the training centre, the jawans went through the basic training course for 39 days. On this occasion, around 60 Home Guard jawans donated blood, the SP said.
“We have taken inspiration from DGP (Himachal Pradesh Home Guards) SR Mardi who initiated the move by organising a blood donation camp in Shimla and later at Palampur,” the SP said.
