5 police ranges established

CHANDIGARH: The government has established five police ranges in the state. An official spokesman said here today that the Ambala range would cover the districts of Ambala, Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra.

The government has established five police ranges in the state.

An official spokesman said here today that the Ambala range would cover the districts of Ambala, Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra. The Karnal range would cover Karnal, Panipat and Kaithal districts. Similarly, the Rohtak range would cover Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonepat and Charkhi Dadri districts while the Hisar range would cover the districts of Hisar, Hansi, Fatehabad, Sirsa and Jind. The South range at Rewari would cover the districts of Mahendragarh, Rewari, Palwal and Nuh.

He said each police range would be headed by an officer not below the rank of IGP, who would report to the DGP.
