LUDHIANA: Eighty units of blood were collected during a camp organised at the Satguru Partap Singh Hospital on the eve of World Blood Donor Day, where staff members donated blood.

Eighty units of blood were collected during a camp organised at the Satguru Partap Singh Hospital on the eve of World Blood Donor Day, where staff members donated blood.

Dr Hitish Narang highlighted the importance of blood donation which can save thousands of lives. He asked volunteers to come forward and donate blood to safeguard the life of others. Dr Narang said blood was required in traumatic cases, adding that millions of lives are lost in the country due to the non-availability of blood.

Dr Mehak Bansal emphasised how humanity could be served by donating blood voluntarily to the needy people. She urged people to come forward for this noble cause.

Amit Juneja, Chairman, Young Indians Ludhiana, said donating blood was a life-saving attempt. “You don’t lose anything if you donate blood as a human body has a regenerating mechanism,” Juneja added.
