Dehradun, March 3
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has challenged the online poll being conducted for the Dehradun smart city project.
In a statement issued here today, AAP leader Anoop Nautiyal said online rigging was taking place in the Dehradun smart city online poll, to generate false support for the state government’s view on the project.
“It appears that the Uttarakhand Government and the Mussorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) are engaged in alleged violation of the Dehradun smart city online poll being conducted on the Union Government website MyGov.in,” Nautiyal said.
“If these allegations are proved correct, the strictest of disciplinary action should be taken against guilty officials, who seem determined to deceive the online system,” he said.
The AAP leader said Dehradun city had been divided in four zones and six options had been given to the residents to cast their vote. These six options were— Retrofitting of zone 1, retrofitting of zone 2, retrofitting of zone 3, retrofitting of zone 4, greenfield on approximate 350 acres of ‘vacant land’ at tea estate plus retrofitting of zone 4 and redevelopment of area on residents’ priority.
“It is unbelievable to see that 81 per cent of people have so far voted only for the tea estate option, which is also the state government’s choice whereas the other five options have garnered mere 19 per cent votes,” Nautiyal said.
He suspected online rigging and sought a probe into the matter.
