Alleging that no action had been taken against the perpetrators in the Abohar farmhouse murder, the Bhim Tank Murder Action Committee today resolved to resume agitation tomorrow.

Panel convener Gopi Ram Sandar said Bhim’s brother Sunil and four other relatives would start an indefinite fast at 10 am tomorrow.

The members of the committee and families of slain Dalit youth Bhim Tank and his associate Gurjant Janta had been waiting to hear from Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. They have already met Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal.

They alleged the government had not met their demands. They have been seeking compensation and government job for the victim’s kin. They further alleged the state government had also not reimbursed Janta’s family for the expenses incurred at a private hospital in Amritsar.

They also questioned the delay in arresting main accused liquor baron Shiv Lal Doda even when his anticipatory bail application had been rejected.
