Affordable housing in Noida

Noida will have as many as 2,000 flats on offer in the affordable segment in a scheme launched under the Samajwadi Awas Yojana on the Republic Day. The scheme was launched in sectors 117, 118 and 122 in Noida.  The residential units in four storey-towers will be allotted through a draw of lots. There will be 1,280 flats of 32m area and 720 flats will be of 71m area. The LIG flats will have two rooms, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and a balcony while the EWS flats will offer one room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and a balcony. The scheme is part of the state government’s initiative to build around 3 lakh affordable houses under the Samajwadi Awas Yojna.  The scheme, which will offer flats ranging from Rs 15 to Rs 30 lakh, is also likely to offer concessions including rebate in stamp duty and single-window clearances. The Noida authority has already completed construction of the flats and has spent around Rs 160 crore. The reserve price for a 32-metre flat has been fixed at Rs 14.07 lakh and Rs 30 lakh for a 71m flat. The Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board (UPHDB) plans to construct over 10,000 affordable housing units in Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Meerut in the price range of Rs 15-30 lakh.
