Mussoorie, September 7
A youth claiming himself to be an IFS officer was detained from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), the premium institute for the training of bureaucrats, here today.
The police said the youth reached the IAS academy for training in the morning. He was continuously enquiring about his joining procedure. However, he left the place after the academy
staff told him that there was no information about any such appointment in the academy.
However, he came back after some time and started enquiring about his joining in the academy as an IFS trainee.
Suspecting foul play, the academy administration reported the matter to the police, which detained the youth and brought him to the police station for interrogation.
The accused has been identified as Romy Mahindroo, a resident of Dehradun. The police claimed that the youth seemed to be mentally unstable.
In a similar incident a few months ago, a woman — Ruby Chowdhury — was caught from the academy.
She was undergoing training fraudulently as an IAS officer.
