Popular singer-actor Ali Zafar recently sang a qawwali at a tribute concert for Amjad Sabri. Ali sang the qawwali so well that a Punjabi film maker approached him to sing for his next Punjabi film.
Lyrics for the Punjabi qawwali will be provided by the filmmakers but the tune, rhythm and composition part will be done by Ali Zafar only.
Reportedly, Ali is a big fan of Punjabi qawwalis and has been listening to them since his childhood so it’s not going to be tough for him to sing in Punjabi. Singing is Ali’s passion and he wants each song to be very much appropriate and perfect so he is practicing Punjabi language and the accents. Ali will also act in the Punjabi film while singing the qawwali.
