Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport is all set to get another running visual range and special radars by the end of February.
Amritsar airport officiating director Gagan Malik said the airport already had two RVRs for updated visibility readings along the runway. Similarly, special radar advanced surface movement guidance control system would be installed shortly to enhance accurate visibility of the air traffic controllers for takeoff and landing even in dense fog.
One more special radar is likely to be installed at the airport shortly for better air space management around Amritsar and for better control of aircraft in air and its surveillance for safe movement due to proximity of the airport with the international border, the official said.
