Punjabi Sahit Akademi organised an interaction with UK-based novelist Mohinderpal Singh Dhaliwal at Punjabi Bhawan here today.

While interacting with literary personalities and literature lovers, Dhaliwal discussed about his recent novel “Peound ton Pehlan”. He said the novel was about pre-industrial revolution of England.

Dhaliwal has written seven novels on various subjects.

He has also written novels about the Gadar and Naxalite movements. Now, he is also writing about the Punjabi Diaspora.

“If I write about the issues of Punjab I may not justify myself as I know very little about the challenges of the state. I moved to England in 1976 and am aware of the issues of western society and issues of Punjabi Diaspora. My recent novel is about the life struggle of natives of England before industrial revolution,” he said.

Mohinderpal Singh Dhaliwal belongs to Bilaspur village of Moga and is associated with several literary organisations including Punjabi Sahit Akademi.

Gurbhajan Singh Gill, former president Punjabi Sahit Akademi, said: “Novels of Dhaliwal are popular among Punjabi readers as he talks of the rights of people. He is equally popular in India and abroad. The budding novelists should follow his skills to tell the story.”
