Anil Thakur elected Hamirpur BJP chief

Hamirpur, October 18

Anil Thakur was elected president of the district BJP unit unopposed in elections to the district unit of the BJP that were held today at Jamli Daam near here today.

It was learnt that the selection of Anil Thakur was done with the consent of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal who was also present on the occasion. Notably, this was after two decades that a non-Brahmin candidate was elected to this post.Anil, who represented the Rajput community, said he would try to live up to the expectations of the party leaders. — OC
