APS, Srinagar, sets record in academic performance

Appreciating efforts of teachers and students of Army Public School, BB Cantonment, for standing first in the academic performance index (API) among all Army Public Schools in India, the Army organised a felicitation ceremony at the school here today.

The school has achieved this remarkable feat, despite being totally submerged in the devastating floods in September last year in the Valley. The school created a new record of 322.85 API for Army Public Schools, said Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC 15 corps.

Governor NN Vohra was the guest of honour. He was accompanied by Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC, Chinar Corps. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Governor.

Students who excelled in academics felicitated by the Governor were Tabish Nisar Khan, Arshjot Singh, Tavleen Kaur, Sahiba, Dhruv Negi, Pooja Kaur, Simer Kaur, Shariq Mushtaq, Fatima Manzoor and Syed Fahir Andrabi.

Besides, teachers of the senior school, Rayees Ahmed, Muzzafer Ahmed, Khan Masroor, Shafat, Vijay Kumar, Nazima Shafi, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Vinod ji Bhatt, Ashok Sadhu and school principal Sandeep Marhatta were also felicitated. The Principal had received the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card on April 29 for his distinguished work in the field of education.
