Tattoos are ink particles embedded in various layers of the skin .The black, blue and brown tattoos are most easily removed whereas yellow, red, orange coloured are more challenging.

  • Spectra laser works effectively on all types of tattoos like amateur, professional, cosmetic or traumatic tattoos.
  • The laser breaks down the large ink particles into microscopic particles which are easily flushed out by natural scavengers of the skin called macrophages.

How it is done

  • The tattoo site is examined thoroughly and laser is best avoided -
  • In case of active skin infection like herpes at the site.
  • In case of active skin disease like psoriasis, licen planus over the site.
  • In case of pigmentation problem like vitiligo or hyperpigmentation.
  • Pregnancy

A local anaesthesia cream is applied 30 minutes to 45 minutes over the tattoo site before the procedure.

The required parameters are set and laser passes are given. Immediately white frosting is visible, sometimes redness and swelling is visible which goes off soon.

After the procedure a local antibiotic cream is applied over the site for 7 to 10 days. The tattoo gets lighter in subsequent sittings. Usually sittings are repeated after 6 to 8 weeks and number of sittings varies on depth of tattoo ink placed. The tattoo eventually fades away without leaving any mark or scar.

So, if you plan to get rid of your old tattoo it’s time to get them removed with laser tattoo removal.
