The Fortis Cancer Institute, Mohali, along with ‘YouWeCan: Yuvraj Singh Foundation’ and ‘Uday Foundation’ organised a special get-together for cancer survivours from Fortis with Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh - a cancer survivor himself. Stories of inspiration and joy were exchanged during the memorable ‘World Cancer Day’ interaction which was organised at a hotel in Panchkula today.
After warmly meeting those undergoing cancer treatment at the Fortis Cancer Institute Mohali, ace cricketer Yuvraj shared his tale of courage and positivity that has made him an inspiration for millions of other cancer survivors who not only battle the disease, but also the courage to face the stigma associated with it.
Yuvraj said, “As a cancer survivor, it was very inspiring to meet all these courageous people who are battling the disease. On my own journey of beating cancer, I learnt an important lesson – cancer is detectable and curable. Ninty per cent of cancers are curable, if detected in stage one.”
