Avalanche kills BRO labourer

MANDI: A labourer of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) was today killed in an avalanche near Rahalla Falls on the Manali-Rohtang road, nearly 27 km from Manali, in Kullu district.

A labourer of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) was today killed in an avalanche near Rahalla Falls on the Manali-Rohtang road, nearly 27 km from Manali, in Kullu district. BRO Commander KP Rajendra Kumar said Ram Bahadur was engaged as a casual paid labour with the organisation.

He was on the way to give food to operators engaged in the snow-clearance operation when the avalanche hit him, the Commander said. Another person was also with him, but he escaped unhurt.—TNS
