Patiala: DAV celebrated the festival of harvest, Baisakhi, with traditional fervour. The programme began with melodious Shabad Gayan “Deh Shivah Var”, “Khalsa Akal Purak” by Rajneet Kaur and her team. The chief guest of the day, SR Prabhakar, was welcomed by students and staff members. It was followed by foot-tapping performance by students of Class VI on the song “Jo Bole So Nehal”. Dhuv Sareen of Class X performed martial arts ‘gatka’. He also gave greetings on “Durga Ashtami” and “Ram Navami”. Shaily Luthra also threw light on the life history of Dr BR Ambedkar, father of the Indian Constitution. The day was also significant as dancing stars Aastha Verma and Upneet Kaur were honoured for winning the first position and second positions, respectively, in the dance competition organised by the Sahodaya Complex. — TNS
