Bharat Gaurav award for Gurukul varsity prof

Dr Ajay Malik, assistant professor of Physical Education and Sports, Gurukul Kangri University, was felicitated with the Bharat Gaurav award at a function held at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
Former Governor of Assam and Tamil Nadu Dr Bhishma Narain Singh, former Army Chief General Bikram Singh and former CBI chief Joginder Singh presented the award to Dr Malik.
Notably, the Bharat Gaurav Award is given by the India International Friendship Society to people who make a mark in their respective field of work and society.
Dr Malik was awarded for his contribution in physical education, sports writing and remarkable efforts to promote sports.
As divisional general secretary of the Uttarakhand Softball Association, Dr Malik had been diligently promoting the new sport in all districts of the state, particularly in hills, where sporting facilities and infrastructure is very poor.
Dr Surendra Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Gurukul Kangri University, extended his wishes to Dr Malik. Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, city legislator Madan Kaushik and Mayor Manoj Garg have also congratulated Dr Malik on his achievement.
