The big fat weddings of Punjab are set to get fatter, as celebrity fashion designer Rohit Verma has entered into a tie up with city-based event management organisation A Million Dollar Affair to conduct theme-based weddings in northern India with a special emphasis on Punjab.

The grand weddings will have the presence of Bollywood celebrities as well (depending on the demand).

The bridal couture for the weddings would be designed by Rohit himself and the wedding planning and design would be done by Neha Singla, Director of A Million Dollar Affair.

A Million Dollar Affair is in Ludhiana to present Fashion Fiesta – a summer fashion and lifestyle exhibition in association with celebrity fashion label Rohit Verma.

The exhibition would be held on May 7 and 8.

Rohit is one of India’s most popular haute couture fashion designers and his signature designs are showcased in fashion hubs across the world such as New York and Vancouver.

He has designed for many leading actresses in Bollywood and has featured in the Big Boss Season 3. He featured himself in the blockbuster film “Fashion” as well.

“I am very excited to be in Punjab where I think people are really style and fashion conscious. Ludhiana in particular is quick to embrace the latest fashion trends. I am happy to be associated with A Million Dollar Affair as they are specialists in organising high-profile exhibitions through which I will be able to reach out to the fast growing Punjab market,” Rohit said.

There would be more than 40 designer labels under one roof in the upcoming exhibition. A few of these include AM PM, Satyapaul, ZARI, ZING, Riwayat, Panache and Vivaan among others.

“We will be endeavoring to bring in stylish summer collections of 2016. The florals, the pastels, the soothers and the shady hats and umbrellas have been kept in mind when we thought of the summer fiesta,” said Neha Singla.

Fashion Fiesta 2016 will focus on the entire wardrobe from casual, summer, party to western wear, she said.
