RLD fields gatekeeper from Dhanaulti seat

The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has fielded a gatekeeper as candidate from the Dhanaulti Assembly seat in Tehri Garhwal district.
RLD national secretary Ratan Lal Lakheda and state vice-president Devpal Singh Rathi today announced Sobat Singh Rawat, up-pradhan of Ghandiyala Gaon and a gatekeeper, as the party candidate from Dhanaulti.
Several Congress workers joined the RLD on the occasion. Lakheda, while addresing mediapersons here, said, “The RLD is a pro-poor and pro-farmers party. That is why it has fielded a poor gatekeeper from Dhanaulti”.
He said the RLD would contest 25 seats, including Tehri and Haridwar. The party leadership was busy in selecting candidates on the remaining seats. He said the party under the leadership of Chaudhry Ajit Singh and Jayant Chaudhry was committed to working for farmers and the poor. Sobat Singh Rawat thanked the party for selecting him from Dhanaulti.
He said he was associated with the Congress for a long time but the party did not care for farmers. Now, he had left the Congress and joined the RLD. Babloo Singh, Rajpal Singh Rawat, van panchayat Sarpanch Shoorvir Singh Rawat, Sikandar Singh Rawta and Suresh Ramola were present.
