The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yesterday reiterated its commitment to ensure the return of Kashmiri Pandits to their native places with dignity and honour. The party asserted that it would strengthen nationalist forces in the Kashmir valley.

Addressing a function in connection with the 26th death anniversary of former party vice-president Tika Lal Taploo, BJP leaders recalled the supreme sacrifices of nationalists in the Kashmir valley.

Paying tributes, state BJP president Jugal Kishore Sharma said Taploo was a great patriot and prominent pillar of the BJP in Kashmir who did not deviate from his mission of strengthening nationalist forces and defeating anti-India elements in the state.

Ashok Khajuria said he had got many opportunities to work with Taploo and was impressed by his simplicity and noble principles of working for the honour of the Tricolour and Kashmiri Pandit community.

MLC Surinder Ambardar termed Taploo as a symbol of nationalism who stood like a rock against all odds in Kashmir and never compromised on principles. He said they needed to follow the path shown by him.
