The BJP will launch a statewide agitation against the state government if it does not order an inquiry into the alleged atrocities committed on the inmates of the Nari Niketan in Dehradun, state BJP president Ajay Bhatt stated this at Haldwani today.
Bhatt, who reached Haldwani with the BJP Chetna rally, said the Dehradun wing of the BJP’s women cell would start an agitation from January 25 in support of its demand for a government inquiry. “We have decided to launch a statewide agitation in case the government does not order an inquiry into the matter,” he said.
Bhatt, while addressing BJP workers, said he enjoyed the support of the party for the forthcoming Assembly elections. “We have with us three former chief ministers, six former party presidents and seven organisational secretaries. What else do we need to win the elections,” Bhatt said.
