To facilitate residents of the bordering area, the district administration today approved two additional transportation routes between Dogri and Karla Beral and Ehan and Kol in the Kol Dam reservoir.
Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kadam issued a notification that the locals may apply for the registration of boat to run for transportation purpose before August 15 and said the interested persons could submit their application in revenue branch of the Deputy Commissioner’s office for consideration.
With the construction of the Kol Dam reservoir, the connection of villagers residing in the bordering areas were disconnected but with the start of the water transport facility, they would be able to travel to any part.
In 2014, when the reservoir was filled with water, all connecting routes and bridges submerged and the short route transportation facility was disconnected.
In June 2016, the district administration approved six water routes and allowed sailing boats to ferry people from one place to other.
For attaining a licence, a person should be XIII pass and above 18 years of age and only one boat will be register in the name of one person.
