Book on journey of 11 Indian Nobel Prize winners

An eminent writer Prof KBS Sodhi penned down his new book on Indian Nobel Prize winners titled “India’s Nobel Romance”. The book throws light on heritage, life, education, contribution, achievements and inventions by 11 personalities from India who have been decorated with Nobel award since 1901 to 2015 and made the nation proud.
The book contains excerpts from lives of personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, CV Raman, Hargobind Khurana, Mother Teresa, Chander Shekhar, Dalai Lama, Dr Amartya Sen, Sir VS Naipaul, Rajinder Kumar Pachauri, Sir Venkatraman Ramakrishna and Kailash Satyarthi.
Talking about the book, KBS Sodhi said, “It is an initiative to provide to the youth of the country an inspirational account of the role models whom they should emulate to enhance honour and prestige of the nation. The book is quite useful to the youth. The book is dedicated to the first citizen of India, President Pranab Mukherjee.”
“While authoring the book, it was a painful revelation that Nobel Peace Prize winners of 2007, RK Pachaury, an Indian environmentalist, and Al Gore, former Vice-President of America, did indulge in some alleged unbecoming acts, may be unintentionally inadvertently which amounted to ‘trivialisation of Indian Eve’. I have also mentioned about these allegations in book,” Sodhi added.
KBS Sodhi is a native of Jallupur Sodhian village in District Amritsar and retired professor of English.
He has written and translated several books, including Sach De Moti (Pearls of ruth) Shakespeare , England Da Batalvi- Johan Keats and Kudrat da Masiha (Prophet of Nature) William Wordsworth, Khusia Kiven Bahist- A Punjabi Translation of Johan Militon’s Paradise lost and Zulf Balatkar- a Punjabi Translation of Alexander Pope’s ‘Rape of the Lock’. Sodhi had earlier also penned a book in Punjabi on the same subject of Nobel awardees.
