BR Ambedkar centre vandalised in Gurgaon

Tension gripped Gurgaon village on Sunday night when nearly 10 youths allegedly vandalised BR Ambedkar Community Centre in Amanpura area.
The accused reportedly belong to an upper caste.
They pulled out the foundation stone bearing Ambedkar’s name and smashed it. The centre president called the police and lodged a complaint against the youths after they fled.
“They had to take possession of the centre. They had ransacked the centre on October 8 as well. A complaint was registered with the Sector-5 police station and CM Window at that time, but no action was taken. Had any action been taken then, Sunday night’s incident would not have happened,” said a centre office-bearer.
The Sector-5 police station have lodged a case Raju, Sanjay alias Ganja, Zile, Samya, Ajeet, Raj Singh, Jassu cable operator, Jashmer and Bablu under Sections 147-149 (rioting), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 506 (threatened to kill) of the IPC and Section 3 of the SC/ST Act.
“The case is being investigated by ACP (Udyog) Inderjeet Singh. The accused will be arrested soon after verifying about their involvement,” said Hawa Singh, ACP (crime), Gurgaon. — TNS
