BSF’s Jammu Frontier receive five trophies

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today awarded all five glittering trophies in as many categories of the BSF to Inspector General of the BSF, Jammu Frontier, RK Sharma at its 50th Raising Day in Delhi.

He also gave away the President’s Police Medal for distinguished services to Sharma.

The five events, viz, border management, training and sports, use of Hindi language, best battalion and best operational achievement are organised by the BSF every year and 13 frontiers of the paramilitary force take part in them.

“It has happened for the first time in the history of the BSF that the Jammu Frontier has got all five trophies and Inspector General RK Sharma has received the President’s Police Medal,” said a BSF officer.

The BSF, Jammu Frontier, has brought home the Maharana Pratap Trophy (best border management), Ashwini Kumar Trophy (excellence in training and sports), Rajbhasa Shield (excellence in using Hindi language), General Choudhary Trophy (best battalion) and DG’s Banner (best operational achievement).

In addition, three BSF personnel of Jammu Frontier have been awarded with gallantry medals and 71 personnel given DG’s Commendation Rolls this year.
